On April 26th, Prof. Liu Dong of the School of Life Sciences, Tsinghua University, was given the 2018 Zheng Changxue Outstanding Teaching Award for his excellence in teaching. Over a hundred faculty members including retired Prof. Zheng Changxue attended the award ceremony.
Prof. Liu Dong a beloved and respected teacher. He served as the Director of Tsinghua Xuetang Life Science Program since 2010. Many students regard him as a trusted mentor and friend. His unique humorous teaching style is well received by undergraduate students.
The award was established in 2010 and donated by Prof. Zheng Changxue, aiming to support and encourage better teaching and talent cultivation in the school. Since the year of 2011, eight faculty members have received this honor.
